ABOUT ME

I was born in Busan, South Korea, and moved to America in 2004. I currently am from Jacksonville, FL. Some of the things that I like to do are watching movies/shows, watching K-Dramas and Korean shows, listening to K-Pop, playing instruments (piano, flute, guitar, piccolo), swimming, hiking, and dancing. I also really love watching ASMR and mukbangs, but something even better is combining the two to watch ASMR mukbangs!

FUTURE ASPIrATIONS

User Experience (UX) / User Interface (UI) Designer

#WHYAKDPHI

I grew up in a community where Asians were not well represented, which, as a child, made me question my identity and who I was. Growing up, the surrounding environment heavily impacted how I felt and made me distance myself away from my own culture. In Elementary school, I was that one kid who packed Kimbap and Kimchi for lunch; I was embarrassed of myself. But then, starting my sophomore year of high school, I became more interested and willing to learn about my culture without letting anything stop me. I realized who I truly am. I am here today as a proud KOREAN who is passionate, loving, and willing to teach, and NOTHING can take that away from me. When I first came to FSU, the first thing I did was search for more ways to represent my Asian culture, and that is how I found aKDPhi. At first, I was a little skeptical about Greek life, but I decided to gather up my confidence and give it a shot and boy, was that the best decision I ever made. I was so excited to finally meet people who were similar to me and was able to understand everything without questioning anything. That’s when I realized, I found a home. This is where I found my lifetime friends who have shown me laughter, love, and friendship; I have never received so much support. I love my sisters so much, and NOTHING can take that away from me. My journey as an aKDPhi sister has just begun, and I have already learned so much and ready to learn so much more! I am a proud ASIAN AMERICAN, and I am out here to let people know my story and #WhyaKDPhi.
